Freeview
Television in New Zealand is going digital. The current analogue system will be turned off on the West Coast of the South Island, including Murchison and St. Arnaud, in September 2012, and on the rest of the South Island, including Nelson and Marlborough, in April 2013.
If you already have Freeview or SKY TV then you are already receiving digital television; if not, then you will need either a Terrestrial UHF aerial installed or a Satellite Dish, and a Digital Set-Top Box.
New television sets that have inbuilt set-top boxes eliminate the need to purchase set-top boxes separately; note these only work with Terrestrial UHF aerials (not with Satellite Dishes).
We can supply and install all you need to become ‘digital ready' - from the full supply and installation of Decoder, Dish or Aerial, and Cable by our experienced technicians, to the individual sale of Decoders, Aerials etc.
Most models of televisions can be made ‘digital-ready' with a set-top box, saving you the expense of having to buy a new television set. However if you are planning to upgrade your television set in conjunction with ‘going digital', we can assist with this as we are authorized agents for Panasonic and can access the full range of Panasonic televisions at competitive prices.
